I first came across Sri Dharma’s Asana book 17 years ago when I had to permanently stop running marathons due to severe knee injury. After coming across many DVDs and Master Yoga Teachers, Sri Dharm was the only one that maintained my interest in yoga and helped me to heal emotionally at a very hard time, after training daily and running marathons was at the center of my life. Yoga came into my life at a weak time and my curiosity to deepen my knowledge beyond the physical aspect was driven by my interest to learn from Sri Dharma himself. For 15 years I used Sri Dharma’s Asana book as a guide to build all my yoga classes in Cyprus, working with peak poses and poses characteristic of this linage – funnily enough, without knowing exactly what Dharma Yoga was, in terms of class structure. Sixteen years after beginning to practice and teaching with the Asana book as my inspiration, I managed to come to the Dharma Yoga Center for my first training here, the 500 hour certification. I cherish deeply every time I return. My teaching has definitely evolved since my first training at the Dharma Yoga Center, always trying to ‘copy the teacher’ in my Asana classes I offer. At the spiritual level, the practice of yoga has transformed my life in so many different aspects. |
Sri Dharma for me represents a True Yogi who practices what he preaches.
I value greatly what he has offered us all and continue to offer. We have a small community here in Cyprus that loves and values Dharma Yoga and how it has transformed their own lives for the better.
